The Mid-Atlantic Cancer Support (MACS) is a Christian non-profit organization committed to providing services to women, men, and children touched by cancer. It is a place where people can find hope and healing through programs and support services designed to inspire and empower those with cancer, their caregivers, loved ones, and friends.
A diagnosis of cancer can be a frightening and traumatic experience for cancer patients and their families.
The diagnosis can cause one to be confused about what to do, who to tum to, and what will happen to them. Although the medical community does provide some answers to their questions about treatments, side effects, coping and other issues, the MACS’s goal is to provide support services in a welcoming, faith-based environment, educational materials, and resources as they go through their journey.
Coming together in one of our three support groups with other cancer patients/survivors to share personal experiences and knowledge and find prayer support can be very beneficial and encouraging.
