The purpose of the Mid-Atlantic Cancer Support (MACS) is to provide education, companionship, prayer support, and practical ways of support to those coping with cancer. All services are free and open to anyone in treatment, recovery, or in survivorship process. We encourage caregivers (family members and friends of those fighting cancer) to attend support group meetings as well.
As of Summer 2016, the word “Center” was stricken from the organization’s name. We never had a building of our own, but each support group met at sponsoring churches and private homes – and we still do. Also, MACS is no longer a 50l(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Support comes through donations from sponsoring churches, ministries, and private contributions.
